A cable is a single-core or multi-core composite of cores (individual conductors) sheathed with insulating materials. The insulating materials used are plastics which surround the conductors and insulate them from one another. In addition, further sheath layers of insulating material or metallic foils and braids may be included for the purpose of electromagnetic shielding or mechanical protection.

Cable assembly is the production of ready-to-connect cables, cable bundles and entire cable harnesses with connectors, contacts or ferrules. Various connector solutions can be used in processing. Both crimping and soldering technology are widely used here. Many requirements arise from the areas of application of the corresponding cable harnesses or connection cables.
